Robbe Laser Speed Boat

Just to give you a few details about the boat. Supplied originally by a company called “Robbe” and had a 380 size electric motor supplied with the kit. i have replaced this motor with a 400 series motor, giving that little bit more power/torque. I also run the boat with 7.2v battery sticks, these give about 20 minutes running time so long as you keep to less that 3/4 throttle of course!

It’s a fun little boat, very stable and turns really well. I did modify the rudder servo position and mounted it directly over the rudder arm, this saves on weight and also weight position, being centrally mounted now, it adds to the boats stability and reduces the need to add ballast to counteract the weight of a servo mounted to one side.

I also replaced the motor flexi drive conncetor with a huco one, as the rubber drive tended to slip, especially with a fully charged battery pack, so now there is no chance of loosing the motors drive torque at any time.

I have a viper marine 10 esc controller in replacement to the original mechanical speed controller, this is lighter, more efficient and saves the need for the added weight of a reciever battery pack. It works well and gives ultimate speed control.
